New Patients

New Patient Dental Examinations

At Pemros Dental Practice we are always pleased to welcome new patients.

Our initial consultation starts with a discussion aimed at identifying your individual needs, after which we examine your lymph glands, muscles and joints in your head and neck.

We will then look inside your mouth, at your tongue, cheeks, roof of your mouth and the back of your throat. (Places where there may be problems that you can’t see).

Finally we will look at your teeth and gums to see whether they are healthy or whether there are signs of decay, damage or gum disease.

Following your consultation we will discuss the health of your mouth, any problems that you may have, and your treatment options.

General Dental Treatments

We are able to provide the majority of dental treatments, including adult orthodontics and root canal treatments, using a Zeiss advanced dental surgical microscope.

We endeavour to follow a minimal intervention approach where possible and can provide simple restorative treatments to more complex full-mouth rehabilitation treatments if required.

Sedation can also be arranged for nervous or anxious patients.

Hygienist Treatments

Hygienists are key players in the prevention of gum disease which can go unnoticed by patients because it is generally painless. If left untreated, gum disease can eventually lead to tooth loss.

They screen for gum disease and clean your teeth, removing the hard build-up of calculus and, leaving your teeth smooth and easier for you to clean. Daily good oral hygiene is the most important factor in keeping your gums healthy and we will advise you on how best to achieve this. We will also give you dietary advice to help combat tooth decay and show you the best products to use to maintain your oral health.

Your hygienist will make a huge contribution in helping you keep your teeth for life through the avoidance of gum disease as well as reducing the risk of developing illnesses such as heart disease.
